Privacy Policy

The Malaysian Yoga Society (Persatuan Yoga Malaysia, MYS) respects your privacy. This policy explains what we collect through malaysianyogasociety.org, why, and the choices you have. It is written with Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 in mind.

What we collect

• Membership applications: your name, date of birth, NRIC or passport number, nationality, gender, mobile number, email, address, occupation and employer, your yoga experience, how you would like to help, and the names of anyone who nominated you. For applicants under 18, the name and NRIC of a parent or guardian.
• Donation pledges, invitations and messages: your name, email, phone number, the amount you pledge and what you write to us.
• News by email: your email address and, if you give it, your first name.
• Basic technical data: our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP addresses) for security, and we use them only to protect the site.

Why we use it

• To process your membership, issue your member number and your private member card link.
• To thank you for a donation, confirm it and, if you ask, recognise it.
• To reply to you and arrange a visit to your school or organisation.
• To send you MYS news, only if you confirmed your email address.

Your NRIC number is used only to identify you as a member. It is visible only to the MYS administrators and is never shown on the website or sent by email. We never sell or rent your personal data.

Children

Photos of our work with children show groups, and children are named by first name only. If you would like a photo removed, write to us and we will take it down.

Where it is kept

Your data is stored with Microsoft Azure, which hosts this site. Only MYS administrators can see applications and the email list.

Your choices

• Every news email has a link to unsubscribe.
• To see, correct or delete what we hold about you, write to malaysianyogasociety@gmail.com.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update it here and change the date above.
