Yoga at National Sai Convention

MYS was given the opportunity to conduct a yoga session during the National Sai Convention 2012 at the Glory Beach Resort, Port Dickson on the 11th of August 2012. About 1,200 Sathya Sai devotees from all over the country participated in the retreat.

The retreat theme, ‘Honouring Parents, Strengthening Family for Healthy Body and Healthy Family’ was timely, in this period of rising divorce cases, broken families, baby dumping and other social ills.

We were greeted by a huge crowd in their traditional attire and wondered how to teach yoga in such a limited space. But the quick-thinking MYS team members soon came up with asanas that were suitable for everyone.

Anything is possible as long as there is a good intention behind it… This is the lesson that I learnt from the experience: yoga at anytime, anywhere and by anyone.

Thanks to MYS yoga instructor Mr Navanesan’s wonderful communication skills, everyone was happy and enjoyed each asana with laughter and applauses throughout the session…

It was a wonderful experience to be a part of the community service group which was taking steps to create awareness. I always believed that there is no limitation in Karma Yoga: serve, serve and serve without expectation.
Karma Yoga in every situation, without choosing environment, organisation, caste, religion, people or nationality is true service to humanity. Thank you to all our team members who spent their precious time to be a part of MYS’ Karma Yoga Projects.

We need more people to come forward, serve and make a brighter future not only for our community/nation but for the whole world. It’s an opportunity for all of us to teach, learn and to experience the great bonding as one big family. Let’s all reach out to the needy … LOVE, SHARE AND SERVE.
